French fashion house Dior will be the official sponsor of the Guggenheim International Gala in New York for the third consecutive year. The 2015 New York City event is scheduled for held Nov. 4 and 5, according to WWD.

The "GIG" is a two-night party to support the museum's operations — including exhibitions, educational programs and the landmark building. This year's first night is going to be a pre-party hosted by the Young Collectors Council. The event will feature performances by Grimes, also known as Claire Boucher. The second night will honor artists Doris Salcedo and Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian and late artist On Kawara, who have all been featured at the museum.

In 2013, Dior tapped DJ Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) to perform the GIG pre-party. Last year, popular British band The xx took the stage at the event, WWD reported.

In related news, Dior opened its first Canadian stand-alone store in British Columbia's Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver last week, marking the first time that the brand's women's ready-to-wear and any menswear products will be directly available to Canadian customers.

"Canada is an important luxury market because of its steady economic growth," Pamela Baxter, president of Christian Dior Couture, North America, told WWD. "The number of top household incomes grew 15 percent last year, and it's growing numbers of younger affluent customers. Young men, in particular, have become more fashion focused in the last few years. They are all highly educated, fashion forward and demanding of excellence in the products they choose. Quality and craftsmanship are at the top of their expectations. Luxury sales are on the rise in Canada largely due to this new client, making 2015 the perfect time for Dior and Dior Homme to open their first stand-alone boutiques in Canada."

This year, Dior also plans to open stores in San Francisco, Miami, Soho Mall in Panama, River Oaks in Houston and Mexico City.
