It may have been her husband's big night, but Sarah Jessica Parker stole the spotlight in a revealing outfit.

The 49-year-old actress wowed on the red carpet in a semi-sheer white dress at the opening night of It's Only A Night in New York City on Thursday.

The Sex And The City star was on hand to show support for the Broadway play which stars her partner Matthew Broderick in the lead role.

Sarah Jessica put her olive green bra on display showing a bit of sex appeal dressed in a white long sleeve dress that featured embroidered lace all throughout the garment.

The mother-of-three styled her outfit with a white belt cinched at the waist, nude tights and strappy black high heels.

She made sure to highlight her semi-sheer frock as the statement piece when she pulled back her long blonde tresses into a ponytail.

Her husband Matthew made his Broadway return in the comedic play It's Only A Play and reunites with former The Producers co-star Nathan Lane.

The show opened at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Thursday and will run through January 4, 2015 for a limited 18 week engagement.

Also starring in the production are Megan Mullally, Stockard Channing and Rupert Grint with Jack O'Brien as director.

And while Matthew returns to the bright lights of Broadway, it looks like his wife might possibly be making her big return to the series that made her famous, Sex And The City.

Earlier this year, Sarah Jessica - who plays the role of Carrie Bradshaw - hinted another movie could be in the pipeline.

She revealed: 'There is one last chapter to tell. Timing is a peculiar thing. It isn't a decision that can wait forever.'

And according to actress Jennifer Hudson, Sex and the City 3 is currently in the works.

The singer and actress appeared as Carrie Bradshaw's assistant Louise in the first film and during a recent appearance, explained that the wheels are already in motion to make another movie, following on from 2010's Sex and the City 2.

Hudson, 33, explained: 'I think it might be [happening].'

'Somebody just came to me talking about that. So, if it's in the talks, it might happen. So, look for it.'

Later, she added: 'Look [out] for Louise from St Louis!'

Meanwhile, it was revealed last week that Parker is set to play the female lead in new romantic comedy All Roads Lead To Rome.

The 49-year-old actress is to play the role of Maggie, who travels through Italy to find her teenage daughter, and Luca, her former lover.

Shooting on the new film will behind in Italy later this month, according to Deadline.

Also at opening night were a slew of A-list celebrities including Marisa Tomei, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Kristin Chenoweth, Zachary Quinto, Marilu Henner and Angela Lansbury.
